We understand how important your personal information is to you as a user, and we take utmost care to protect it. We only collect this information in order to facilitate your use of the service. The legal basis for our collection of your personal information is your affirmative consent to our processing of your personal data when you signed up to the service, or when you reaffirmed your consent through email.
Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.
For the purpose of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller of personal data is Testable SRL, Romania. We can be contacted at minds@testable.org.
When registering on our site, you are asked to enter your name, your email address, your sex and date of birth. It is compulsory to provide the first two for communication purposes, and the last two for access to online experiments. We may also ask for your phone number for one-time verification of your identity (to ensure that researchers are sending experiments to real people, and that there is no duplication possible). You are able to opt-out of this, although it may mean you won’t have access to all of the experiments on our website.
We may also collect and process data regarding your correspondence with us, your participation in experiments and your visits to our website.
We will retain your personal information for up to two years, in which case we will contact you under legitimate interest grounds to clarify whether you wish your account to remain open.
You must be over 18 to use Testable Minds.
We collect information from you when you register on our site, fill out a form, complete experiments, or enter information on our site.
When completing an experiment, your personal data is kept strictly confidential. Researchers managing experiments on the site may receive de-identified data. That means you will not be personally identifiable from this information.
We may use the information we collect from you when you register, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, participate in an experiment, browse experiments, surf the website, or use other site features to personalise your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content you may be interested in.
Your de-identified personal information may be shared with researchers who use our service to host experiments.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks located in the European Economic Area and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. Should a data breach occur, we will notify you via email within 7 business days. All money transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.
You can request access to your personal data free of charge, although if the request is unfounded or excessive, we charge a reasonable fee to cover administrative costs. We will provide this information within one month of receipt in an electronic format.
If the data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you are entitled to contact us to have that data rectified. We must respond within one month. If we decide not to take action, it is our duty to explain this to you - you then have a right to complain to Romania’s National Authority for Data Processing ICO and then could potentially have a judicial remedy.
You are entitled to ask for your personal data to be erased when:
We will restrict this when requested if:
You have the right to request your personal data from us in a machine-readable format, which you can then transmit to any other provider you wish to hold your data. We will respond with this information within one month.
